How can we help?

Want to say something about your local area or local services? Then why not get in touch with your  community council. We represent the area covered by  Anstruther, Kilrenny and Cellardyke.

  • We represent public opinion to the local authority and other government bodies.
  • We work to safeguard and promote the area's best interests.
  • And we also work with others to improve your community.

your  community council is regularly asked to comment on a range of issues such as:

  • the local environment;
  • local planning applications; The Community council is a statutory consultee on planning and unlike Local Councillors, can voice an opinion prior to fife Council  planning meetings
  • drinks (liquor) licensing;
  • local plans
  • decentralisation of public services; and
  • community planning.

All meetings are held in public and if anyone wishes to raise a subject for the attention of the community council they are requested to inform the secretary prior to the meeting. The secretary can be contacted via e mail or at 56 High Street, Anstruther.

The Draft  Minutes and   agendas are placed in Anstruther Library 7 days prior to the meeting.  Once the minutes are passed as correct they are placed on this site and are available in hard copy from the secretary.
